Tabitha’s core belief is that we are fundamentally responsible for taking care of each other, for seeing all those around us as family, and we are called to feed the hungry, care for the sick, and liberate the captive. As a taxpayer, she cares deeply about how public funds are spent. “That’s our money and we have the right and responsibility to ensure it is spent smartly.”Tabitha received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago as well as a BA from Washington University. She has had a broad range of work experience, in higher education, in a refugee settlement agency, as a researcher and policy-maker in early childhood education, and as a business analyst developing software solutions for the childcare and early learning workforce. Tabitha and her husband became foster parents in 2014 and adoptive parents in 2017. She feels strongly that electoral representatives should base their actions on authentic listening, and pledges to make government more accessible and transparent.
